It’s great to be in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches as the lifestyle that this place offers is fantastic and the perfect place for our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu School.
We teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Self Defence and Mixed Martial Arts in a great atmosphere where everyone is friendly and welcoming. It is a dream to work with the art that I love so much and to have passed it on to hundreds of students that I’ve had the opportunity to teach and help since I arrived in Australia.
I enjoyed watching these students come to understand that the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu go far beyond the acquiring life saving skills and techniques, or getting their body into great shape. They acquire greater self-confidence, improved health and fitness, self-discipline and their lives change for the better.
Our world class BJJ programs are tailored to serve people from different ages and backgrounds. Students range in age from as young as five to more than sixty and any one who is seeking a different sport that is worth dedicating time and learning to will benefit from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is a continual learning experience; a life long journey of exploration.
Jiu Jitsu has many additional benefits. I can tell you from my own experience that it can be very successfully applied to other sports. I have been training the Manly Sea Eagles Rugby League for over a year now and Jiu Jitsu helped them to win the Premiership 2008 by a record margin. By adapting Jiu Jitsu training and techniques to their game help Manly completely reverse the result of the previous Grand Final and take out the Flag.
Jiu Jitsu is so fascinating and challenging that student’s are always wanting to find out more about the art that you will never stop learning. As a student and a teacher for many years I frequently hear students say the famous sentence: “Why didn’t I start Jiu Jitsu sooner?” So don’t waste your time, come to visit us and experience this wonderful art and be part of the Gracie Barra family.
